We’re delighted to announce that David Wilson Homes (Southampton) has appointed building services specialist HBS Group Southern (HBS) as the mechanical and electrical contractor for its new large-scale Harbour Place development in Bedhampton, Havant.
HBS’ Mechanical and Electrical integrated divisions will be providing a combined plumbing and heating, electrical and EV charging package for 115 properties at the David Wilson branded parcel. It forms part of the wider development at Harbour Place, with 205 properties currently under construction for the Barratt Homes brand.
The brand-new collection of David Wilson Homes at Harbour Place will feature a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties, located between Bedhampton and Drayton. All will be constructed to a high-quality and energy-efficient standard. Surrounded by green open space with the coastline on your doorstep. A 20% provision for affordable housing split across affordable rent and shared ownership is to be managed by VIVID.

Harbour Place is the latest site to be awarded to HBS by the 5 Star housebuilder’s Southampton office. It follows on from successful building services contracts secured on several sites in recent years. These include Quarter Jack Park, Canford Paddock and the NHBC Pride in the Job winning Saxon Corner, Madgwick Park and New Quarter.
Across these live projects, HBS continue to produce industry-leading workmanship to support the seamless construction of more high-quality and sustainable Barratt David Wilson Homes across the South.

Complete M&E building services for Harbour Place
HBS’ Mechanical and Electrical divisions will oversee all aspects of supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the gas, heating, water, electrical and ventilation requirements at David Wilson Homes Harbour Place. Within the package HBS will also be responsible for the installation, testing and commissioning of 82 x 7.2 kWh electric vehicle charging points. This large provision of active chargers will help to ensure the new homes at Harbour Place are future-proofed and ready for electric vehicles.
Lead by a dedicated Contract Manager, HBS’ experienced on-site workforce will be committed to providing a reliable and consistent service throughout the 18-month building programme. They will be focused on completing staged installations in line with production targets, NHBC standards and HBS’ own in-house quality management system.
