Bovis Homes selects HBS for major Whiteley Meadows scheme
We’re pleased to announce that leading housebuilder Bovis Homes (Southern Counties) has chosen HBS Group Southern as a preferred mechanical services and solar PV partner for their flagship development at Whiteley Meadows.
This large-scale scheme from Bovis Homes forms part of a wider plan being delivered by a group of developers who are part of the North Whiteley Consortium; they include Bovis Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Crest Nicholson and JGP Lakedale.
The new sustainable community at North Whiteley will see 3500 new homes built and will include a secondary school, two primary schools, a nursery and two local community centres, as well as playing fields and new infrastructure.
Paul Bailey, Operations Director at HBS Group Southern said:
“We are delighted to be working once again with Bovis Homes Southern Counties on another key local development project.
It presents an exciting opportunity for HBS’ Mechanical and New Energies divisions to work collaboratively with the housebuilder and help them realise the vision for this new vibrant and sustainable community.
HBS look forward to starting works on site and will be committed to supporting the provision of much needed high quality and energy efficient housing for the district.”
This latest combined services contract builds on the HBS Group Southern’s long standing partnership with the housebuilder, taking the total number of Bovis schemes (Southern Counties) currently supported by the Group to 5 across the South.
The Mechanical division are to supply and install the plumbing and heating requirements for 160 units at the (Southern phase) whilst the New Energies division will design, install and commission all PV requirements to fulfil the site-wide carbon reduction targets for the entire Whiteley Meadows scheme.

Meeting Bovis Homes carbon reduction targets with solar PV
The New Energies design team engineered a 179.7 kWp solar PV solution to ensure the Bovis Homes Whiteley Meadows scheme achieved its carbon reduction requirement through on-site renewable generation.
A sleek all black PV module has been specified and will be fitted to pitched roofs on selected apartment blocks and houses using our Complete In-roof Solar system. Array sizes have been maximised where we identified the most productive elevations.
When complete, the roof-integrated residential solar PV scheme at Bovis Homes Whiteley Meadows will generate an estimated 150,000 kWh in annual zero carbon electricity. The inclusion of solar panels will reduce the carbon emissions by up to 80 tonnes per year and provide an energy saving benefit for residents.
