Mechanical Aftercare Engineer

We’re looking for a Gas Safe Registered Aftercare Engineer with a building services background to join our M&E team. The Mechanical Aftercare Engineer’s role will be to carry out plumbing maintenance across new build sites, including gas works, to a safe, clean and well-presented manner. You’ll work to a strict programme where punctuality and quality of workmanship is key. If you are Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with experience working within the New Build sector and looking for a new opportunity then this could be the role for you. The permanent role comes with a competitive salary of between £34,000 up to £38,000 DOE plus overtime, ‘Out of Hours’ call out payments and a range of benefits. Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our fast-paced commercial team. Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our fast-paced commercial team. In this role you will be responsible for securing new plumbing and heating contracts within the new build housing sector. We believe taking on apprentices improves productivity, strengthens and future proofs workforces and improves motivation among our people. It also increases the amount of skilled labour coming through to deliver projects and support our continued growth.

Our successful apprenticeship scheme has been running for over 50 years. It provides an exciting opportunity for young people wishing to pursue a career in plumbing and heating, electrical and renewable energy services. We offer some of the best comprehensive hands-on training in the industry which many employers and young people can benefit from.

As a leading integrated building services provider, we have the experience and expertise to harness young talent and train them to learn and work to the highest standard. We continually invest in developing our apprenticeship programme as part of our commitment to improving learning, education and development in the community, whilst helping to close the gap on skilled engineers.

 

Start your career with an apprenticeship at HBS

 

The HBS Apprenticeship Scheme is delivered in partnership with a local network of colleges, delivering the best training in the industry. We currently have over fifty apprentices working for us across our mechanical and electrical divisions. Many of our apprentices remain with HBS Group Southern once they have completed their training and progress further within the company.

All apprentices will attend college one day per week in term time for up to four years. Outside of college apprentices will spend valuable time accompanying one of our qualified engineers on-site learning their trade of choice.

  • Trained by our own qualified engineers who have a wealth of experience and are experts in their field
  • Gain a City and Guilds NVQ qualification levels 2 and 3 when they have completed their apprenticeship
  • Competitive rates of pay on offer and all associated employment costs, on the job training, are covered by HBS
  • Provision of all personal protective equipment
  • Age-dependent, all college fees are paid for by the college that the apprentice attends, with HBS making a contribution as necessary
